SILVERLININGS - trainer D Burrows was issued a warning for presenting the mare to race without the notified blinds. Stewards questioned driver G Smith regarding the starting position of the mare. Mr Smith advised he had been hampered by REGAL SPIRIT which was being led by the Clerk of the Course as the field turned into line which resulted in him being unable to shift wider on the track to his unruly position. After viewing the replays and considering his explanation Stewards took the matter no further other than to remind Mr Smith of his obligations.

Authorisation of placings were withheld until Stewards had viewed replays of the start and were satisfied that the interference had occurred after the barrier had been released. Mr Williams was examined by St John personnel and cleared of injury to fulfill his remaining driving engagement.
